A cold front moving across eastern Nebraska the area on Saturday, and National Weather Service Meteorologist Corey Mead says we can expect storms to develop by early to mid afternoon and then head southeast through the evening hours.

Storms could produce heavy rain, large hail (up to ping-pong ball size), localized flash flooding, and winds up to 70 miles per hour. Mead says a brief tornado or two can’t be ruled out.

There are also storm chances tonight into early Saturday morning.

Mead shared how to best be prepared as weather rolls in, “Just having an action plan in place in the event that severe weather moves into your area. At this point, we wouldn’t say cancel your plans. Just keep an eye on the forecast weather conditions and make sure you have an action plan in place.”
