Lincoln Police were called to a home near 20th and Superior just after 2:00 Friday morning on a report of a man who was armed with a hammer and knife and threatening to kill the caller’s roommates.

Sergeant Chris Vollmer says 34 year old Anthony Grandel was still there when police arrived.  “Officers were able to make entry into the home as Anthony barricaded himself in a back bedroom.”
That allowed the five roommates to safely flee the home.  Vollmer says one of them suffered a minor injury.

After talking with Grandel for about 20 minutes he came out of the bedroom and was taken into custody.  He was taken to the Lancaster County Jail and booked for assault, terroristic threats, false imprisonment, burglary, possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person and resisting arrest.
