What weighs 13.5 tons and helps teens through a pandemic?

27,000 lbs (13.5 tons) of Colorado Peaches have arrived as part of Youth for Christ’s annual fundraiser. Nearly 1,000 people have preordered their peaches, but there are still plenty left.

Peaches can be purchased Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10am-6pm or until sold out.

Youth for Christ Director Pastor Matt Schulte says, “We work directly with an orchard on the Western slopes of the Rocky Mountains to acquire these softball-sized juicy peaches. When I talked with the orchard on Monday they were still picking them off the tree and they arrived late last night.”

This fundraiser supports Youth for Christ’s programs that provides a safe, welcoming places where teens can be connected to mentors and community resources. Youth for Christ’s three programs are Campus Life, Parent Life, and Juvenile Justice Ministry.

“People love, Love, LOVE these peaches. We have quite the fanbase. We start receiving calls in March each year wondering when Colorado peach orders will be open. Luckily we were able to get more peaches this year than in previous years so sales are open to the public. Hope you’ll stop by as your peach purchase will help impact teens in Lincoln.” Pastor Matt Schulte

Youth for Christ is located at 6401 Pine Lake Rd in Lincoln.
