Hot and humid conditions on Tuesday will lead to the potential for strong to severe thunderstorms during the late evening hours. Dirk Petersen is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Omaha and says storms are expected to develop in north central and northeast Nebraska around 8 or 9 pm.
“That will start to grow together into a larger storm cluster and start moving southeast,” Petersen says. The storms will most likely be in the Lincoln area between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m.
“We’re watching out for very strong winds and damaging hail along with that,” Petersen says. There will be additional chances for storms on Wednesday and Thursday.
