Lincoln Fire and Rescue crews were called to the Lake Park Condominiums near 56th Street and Pioneers Boulevard just after 8:30 Monday morning after someone smoke coming from underneath the door of one of the units.
“Crews arrived on location and found heavy smoke in one of the apartments on the second floor,” Battalion Chief Bob Watton tells KLIN News. He says firefighters encountered a lot of personal items in the unit, which made it more difficult to get to the fire.
The fire was found in a bedroom and contained to that unit. Several other units on the second floor sustained smoke damage and there was some water damage to a unit below.
Damage to contents is estimated at $10,000. The cause is not yet known.
