A 29 year old woman called Lincoln Police on Thursday after discovering bullet holes in her apartment north of 56th and Old Cheney. “The victim reported hearing a loud noise the previous evening and checked to see if something fell over in her apartment,” says Sergeant Chris Vollmer.
He says she went into her child’s bedroom and found two bullet holes in the ceiling. He says it’s not known if the child was in the bedroom at the time. Officers then spoke with the upstairs neighbor and determined he was negligent in the handling of the gun.
Officers seized a .556 caliber rifle and cited the 19 year old man for discharging a firearm within the City, which is a misdemeanor.
