Lincoln Man Arrested After Assault Attempt On Store Employee With Screwdriver

A Lincoln man is in custody on multiple charges after an incident at the adult entertainment store, involving one of the employees.

Thursday evening, Lincoln Police received a report a male chasing somebody with a knife, in the parking lot of Doctor johns near 48th and Vine Streets. Arriving officers arrived and saw two males on the ground, one holding the other down.

LPD Sargent Chris Volmer said officers separated the two. Its reported that 59 year-old Daryl Stokebrand of Lincoln entered the business several times and was asked to leave the store. Upon being asked to leave, Stokebrand brandished a screwdriver, threatened a 53 year-old employee of the store, and attempted to strike him with the screwdriver.

The store employee was able to strike Stokebrand, forcing him to the ground where he held him down until officers arrived.

Stokebrand was arrested on 3 felony counts: attempted first degree assault, terroristic threats, and use of a weapon to commit a felony.

Officers recovered the screwdriver.
