Customers of the Lancaster Rural Water District #1 are being told to reduce the sprinkler usage by 50 percent. District Manager Jordon Bang said in a statement that the mandatory reduction is due to the water levels in their elevated towers.
“If the District does not see a reduced amount of water being demanded due to the mandatory reduction, we will have no choice but to ban sprinkler use for the rest of the year,” Bang says.
The City of Lincoln implemented voluntary restrictions a few weeks ago.
