Lincoln Police were called to the area of 14th and A Street just after 1:00 Wednesday morning after someone reported a man and woman banging on doors.
Sergeant Chris Vollmer says officers spoke with a 40-year-old woman and a 63-year-old man who said they were assaulted while walking on near 17th and Washington Street. “The female advised they had been assaulted by a man she knew as Brandon Heard,” Vollmer says. She says Heard punched them both in the face and she was knocked to the ground.
While on the ground the woman said that Heard had stomped on her chest. LFR arrived at the scene and took the woman to the hospital for treatment. The man suffered minor injuries.
Police were able to contact Heard at his nearby home. “Heard pulled away from officers during his arrest but was taken
into custody without injury,” Vollmer says.
Heard was taken to jail and booked for 2nd degree assault and resisting arrest.
