Lynn McNally with Nebraska Horsemen says she is beyond thrilled that Nebraskans will finally be able to legally bet on sporting events beginning Thursday. “We’ve been waiting for this day for a long time.”
She says at 3:00 Thursday afternoon customers can walk into the WarHorse Casino in Lincoln and place bets on a wide range of sporting events. “We will be open for the finals of the College World Series and you can bet on Nebraska to beat Colorado, you can bet on Nebraska to be the Big 10 Champ and you can bet on who wins the Super Bowl.”
McNally says bets on games played at Memorial Stadium are not allowed. She anticipates a good crowd to show up on the first day and they will be ready.
“We will have ten betting terminals placed throughout the building, so there should be plenty of room for you to place your bet and get in fairly quickly,” McNally says. “We also have two in person tellers at a window close to the entrance so if you want to get a couple of bets in and then get on with your day you should be able to do that as well.”
McNally says state law requires all bets to be placed inside the casino.
