Lincoln Police were called to the 5300 block of Walker Avenue around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday to investigate a disturbance.

Police learned that a five year old child had run into the street. That upset a driver identified as 42 year old Joshua Ratkovec who stopped and had words with  the child’s father, 30 year old Amilo Boone. Ratkovec left but soon returned with a knife in a sheath and approached Boone. Boone told police that Ratkovec lunged at him and that started a fight.

Both struggled for the knife when Boone got a hold of it. During the altercation, Ratkovec was cut on his back. Ratkovec left saying he would be back with a gun.

Police arrived before he returned and contacted Ratkovec at his home. He was taken into custody for making terroristic threats and use of a weapon to commit a felony.

The knife was found in Boone’s home. He was booked for 2nd degree assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony. He also had an outstanding warrant for a traffic offense.
