An investigation is underway after Lincoln and Fire and Rescue battled a restaurant fire early Monday morning. LFR Public Information Officer MJ Lierman says when crews arrived around 3:30 they found heavy black smoke pouring out the front door.
Inside the building crews encountered flames. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the one unit of strip mall, but five other units sustained significant smoke damage.
No one was inside at the time. Investigators are still trying determine what sparked the fire. Damage is estimated at $250,000 to the building and $250,000 to the contents of the restaurant.
