A disturbance sent Lincoln Police to a home in the 2900 block of E Street just before 6 p.m. Monday. Officers found an 18 year old man who was bleeding from his face. He told officers he had been assaulted by 20 year old Elijah Phillips who was still inside the house.
Police then spoke with Phillips and several other residents who saw what happened. They stated the 18 year old victim had been arguing with a 14 year old male inside. The 14 year old old then charged at him before a fight broke out between the two. Phillips used an electric drill to strike the victim several times on the head.
The victim left the home. Officers learned he then started hitting Phillips’ vehicle parked in the driveway with a shovel. Damage is estimated at $300.
The 18 year old victim was taken to a hospital to be checked out and should recover.
Phillips was booked for 2nd degree assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony. The 14 year old was referred for 3rd degree assault and released to a parent. The victim was cited for misdemeanor vandalism.
