Lincoln Police released more information in the Monday evening shooting. Two men are in critical condition following an altercation on the east side of Edgewood Theater near 56th and Highway 2 around 8 p.m. Monday. Officers received a report of gunshots fired and witnesses reported that individuals from two vehicles were shooting at each other.
Officers arrived to find a 19 year old man inside a black Mercedes in the passenger seat with a gunshot to his face. An 18 year old man was found laying in the parking lot with gunshot wounds to a leg and hip. Officers provided aid until LFR arrived. Both men were rushed to hospitals.
Another 18 year old man was contacted at the scene and stated he had been with the two victims at the time of the shooting. investigators processed the scene for evidence and spoke with witnesses.
Investigators believe the three men met another vehicle with several occupants in the parking lot before the shots were fired. They are currently working to establish a timeline of events, including what led up to the shooting.
