A Lincoln woman is being held on 10 separate criminal charges after multiple pursuits across several counties led to her arrest.

On Monday June 12th, around 4:28pm, the Saunders County Sheriff’s Office was notified that the Dodge County Sheriff’s Dept. was in pursuit of a silver jeep without license plates headed southbound on Hwy 77. As the pursuit neared Hwy 92, Dodge County terminated their pursuit and shortly after, Saunders County also terminated due to high traffic volume on Hwy 92.

At approximately 4:58pm the Wahoo Police Department observed the suspect vehicle at a convenient store in Wahoo and followed it out of town to Hwy 109. Once northbound on Hwy 109, Saunders County and Wahoo PD initiated another pursuit. Spike strip deployment was attempted by Saunders County near Hwy 109 and County Road U but that attempt was unsuccessful due to the suspect taking the ditch and nearly hitting the deputy.

The pursuit continued to Cedar Bluffs where the suspect tuned westbound on Hwy 105. After getting to Hwy 79, the suspect continued west then southbound past Prague where two other attempts to deploy spikes were unsuccessful. Near 1858 County Road 27 a Saunders County Deputy successfully deployed spikes and the suspect lost control trying to avoid them.

The suspect, Itsamar Ramirez (28) of Lincoln was taken into custody without further incident. Prague Fire and Rescue were called to the scene and transported Ramirez to Saunders Medical Center to get checked out.

After medical clearance, Ramirez was transported to Saunders County Corrections and charged with the following charges:

  1. Speeding (93-55 zone)
  2. Failure to Stay in Lane
  3. Driving while Revoked from DUI (Class 4 Felony)
  4. Possession of a Controlled Substance- Meth (Class 2A Felony)
  5. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  6. Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person (Class 1D Felony)
  7. Willful Reckless Driving
  8. Flight to Avoid Arrest (Class 4 Felony)
  9. Possession of a Stolen Firearm (Class 2A Felony)
  10. Open alcohol container

Ramirez has been involved in approximately 7 pursuits in the last week in the Lincoln area and ran from Fremont Police and Dodge County in two incidents today.

We would like to thank Wahoo PD, Yutan PD, Nebraska State Patrol, and Prague Fire and Rescue for their assistance today. It was a great job by all involved to get this suspect into custody.
