A 52 year old man is recovering after an apparent assault around 3 a.m. Saturday. An LPD officer was walking into the police station at 575 S 10th Street when he saw a man walking near the entrance and then collapse. The man had injuries and was bleeding. The officer called LFR and the man was taken to a hospital.
The man reported he was assaulted in the 900 block of E Street. Officers then processed the scene for evidence and are asking for video from those in the neighborhood.
While at the hospital, officers learned the man had suffered a significant injury to the neck. Due to his medical condition, he was not able to provide further details of the assault.
