Some residents of the Lodge Apartments near 40th and Nebraska Parkway were sent scrambling around 4:00 Sunday morning. LFR Public Information Officer MJ Lierman says when crews arrived they found a slight haze in the building.
Tenants were awakened by their smoke detectors going off and saw smoke coming from the vents in the bedroom, bathroom, and hallway,” Lierman says. “They evacuated the apartment and activated the pull station as they left to alert other building occupants.”
She says crews investigated and found light smoke coming from an overheated HVAC unit. No one was hurt.
