Nebraska Football Fan Day is Thursday and the NU Athletic Department has released health and safety guidelines for the event. The guidelines are “a result of the recent rise of COVID-19 cases in the Lincoln community and the Lincoln-Lancaster County COVID-19 Risk Dial moving back into the Yellow category earlier this week.”
The release asks those attending to not gather at the Memorial Stadium gates until shortly before the 5:30 pm start and encourages fan to social distance when possible. Although no mask requirement is in effect, those that are unvaccinated or with underlying health conditions are recommended to wear a mask.
There will be hand sanitation stations available around the field, as well as near the Gate 3 and 24 entrances. Fans are asked to allow players and coaches to exit right at the end of the event at 7:30 pm.
A heat advisory also remains in effect for the area, so fans are encouraged to either bring water with them or to purchase a drink at the event.
As for the reason for fans showing up, autographs are limited to one item per player or coach. Fans will not be allowed to go around the table to take pictures.
