Fire heavily damaged a home near 96th and Holdrege just before 10:00 Wednesday night. Lincoln Fire and Rescue Public Information Officer MJ Lierman says crews found smoke coming from a second floor window when they arrived.
Firefighters went inside and found a fire in the kitchen that had started on the stove. Lierman says they were able to put the fire out quickly and prevent it from spreading further.
Everyone in the house made it out safely and no injuries were reported. Damage is estimated at $100-thousand. The Red Cross was called to assist the residents.
