Nebraska baseball did what needed to be done to close out the year.
The Huskers finished off Purdue 6-4 Saturday to take the series. NU closes the regular-season at 31-21-1 overall and 15-9 in the Big Ten.
A pair of home runs on the day from Max Anderson and Charlie Fischer pushed the Nebraska single-season home run record to 95 on the year. Anderson’s blast also gave him 15 in conference play, a Big Ten record.
The result slots Nebraska in as the 4-seed in the upcoming Big Ten Conference Tournament in Omaha next week. The Huskers will play Rutgers at 2 p.m. CDT on Wednesday.
