The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for Lancaster and severalother counties in eastern Nebraska and western Iowa until 9:00 Friday night.

“We’re looking at all hazards for severe weather, large hail, damaging winds, tornadoes and maybe a little bit of localized flooding with some heavy rain,” says Clint Aegerter, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Omaha.

There several severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings issued Friday afternoon across central Nebraska.   Forecasters say make sure you have several ways to receive warnings and be ready to seek shelter if a warning is issued for your area. Severe storms should move out of the local area by 10 pm.
