The TADA Theatre in Lincoln will celebrate it’s 15th anniversary this weekend with two special concerts by guitar virtuoso Laurence Juber. The two time Grammy award winner was lead guitarist for Paul McCartney and Wings from 1978-81.
Juber’s work has been heard on recordings from artists as diverse as Harry Styles, Dan Hicks and countless others and he is featured on the soundtracks to hundreds of TV shows and movies, including the academy award-winning Dirty Dancing, Good Will Hunting and Pocahontas.
He also played the James Bond theme for the movie “The Spy Who Loved Me.” Juber is also an accomplished arranger and composer. Juber tells KLIN News the TADA Theatre has special meaning to him.
“TADA has been supportive of other works my wife and I have done. They’ve done “Gilligan’s Island: The Musical,” which we wrote the music for and also the show “It’s The Housewives,” a show that my wife Hope developed,” Juber says.
Juber will present two entirely different concerts during this special weekend. Friday night will be LJ PLAYS THE BEATLES to a sold out crowd. This includes hits from The Fab Four heard in his unique style.
Saturday night’s concert is called LJ’S WORLD ON 6 STRINGS and will feature songs from his album featuring Harold Arlen tunes as well as some hits from his own repertoire.
“Not only do you get to come see me performing for you, but you’re also being supportive of what you have in Lincoln, which is a treasure in a small and extremely well run theatre.”
Limited tickets for that show are $25. Click here to reserve your ticket. As a bonus for area musicians Juber will present his masterclass Guitarmania to Beatlemania on Saturday afternoon.
