The registration deadline is coming up for University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Big Red Weather Camp. Last day for regular registration is Friday, May 12th.
Retired UNL Climatologist with the program, Dr. Ken Dewey said in a conversation on LNK Today with Jack and Friends, “Everybody loves talking about the weather in Nebraska. Sports number one, obviously, but weather’s number two in discussion…. And if you have a kid that loves weather, and I know they’re out there, [kids] immerse themselves in a whole week of weather experiments and weather guests and learn about weather careers.”
The Big Red Weather Camp is open to incoming and current 9th graders, as well as 10th-12th graders including recent high school graduates. The late registration deadline for Big Red Camps is May 22. No registrations will be accepted after May 22. All housing and food are provided for participants throughout the duration of the camp.
The camp dates are June 11– June 16, and will be held at Agricultural Hall on UNL City Campus.
