A 57 year old man has been arrested following a hit and run crash Monday night near the Warhorse Casino.  Lancaster County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Ben Houchin says around 7:40 p.m. the driver of a Toyota pickup was southbound on SW 12th Street when he ran a stop sign at the intersection of West Denton Road and slammed into a Ford Focus.

“It caused the vehicle to flip and roll over and land in the north ditch,” Houchin says.  “He left the scene, he did not call, he did not check for injuries.” When deputies arrived at the scene they found a license plate on the ground and went to 57 year old Richard Caruso’s home.

“They found him outside with his Toyota pickup in the garage with the door shut.”  Houchin says Caruso was taken to jail and booked for leaving the scene of an injury accident, which is a felony.  He was also cited for running the stop sign.

The driver and passenger of the Focus suffered minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital where they were treated and released.
