Lincoln Police were called to the State Office Building at 301 Centennial Mall around 10:40 a.m. on Monday, July 19th to investigate a man with a knife call.

Police spoke with a 48 year old man who said he was approached by another man who offered him a knife if the victim would help him pick a bike lock. The victim said “no” loudly and that drew attention to the situation. That also upset 30 year old Sergio Barajas who pulled out that knife from a pocket and started swinging it at the victim. The victim then started yelling and Barajas ran from the scene. The victim ran after Barajas warning people he had a knife.

Officers found Barajas near South 18t and M Street about 10 minutes later. They also found the knife near Centennial Mall.

Officers cited and booked Barajas for making terroristic threats and for use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.
