The 39th annual Cornhusker State Games will be held July 14-30 in Lincoln, Omaha and several other Nebraska communities. Dave Mlnarik with the Nebraska Sports Council tells KLIN News registration is going well. “We’re tracking on a pace to get to our goal of 10,000 total participants this year.”
He says there are more than 70 sports this year, including the addition of bocce. He says you don’t need to be a seasoned athlete to enjoy participate. “Our mantra is all ages, all abilities,” Mlnarik says. The Cornhusker State games has always been the place where if you’re a beginner we have a place for you that’s comfortable.”
Mlnarik says participants who register by June 21st will receive “Summer Fun Freebies” including a CSG shirt and vouchers for free admission to several attractions, including a Saltdogs baseball game, a Storm Chasers baseball game, the Nebraska State Fair, the Lancaster Super Fair and the NEBRASKAland Days Rodeo.
