Nebraska Game and Parks officials are looking for information in connection with the illegal shooting of an osprey near 20th and Nebraska Parkway around April 15.   The bird was found on the ground near Southwood Drive near 20th and Nebraska Parkway.

There is a small pond and park in that area. The Raptor Conservation Alliance picked up the osprey in the morning hours of April 16. The bird was found to have a single pellet in one of its wings that caused it to be permanently injured.

Game and Parks officials say the osprey had to be euthanized.  Osprey’s are federally protected birds and any information can be relayed anonymously through the Nebraska Wildlife Crime Stoppers program at 1-800-742-7627.
