By Tom Stanton May 1, 2023 | 12:32 PM

A woman is facing a number of charges after Lincoln Police say she assaulted a corrections officer early Saturday morning. Sergeant Chris says officers located vehicle stopped in traffic near 14th & “O” Street with its hazard lights flashing around 2:20 a.m.

“When officers attempted contact with the vehicle it sped away, nearly striking a second officer in the street. The vehicle was stopped near 13th & N Street.”

Vollmer says the driver, identified as 22 year old Fiona Walker, appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.  “She refused to exit the vehicle
and had to be removed by additonal officers. Walker later refused the breath test and was transported to jail.”

At the jail, Vollmer says Walker refused to get out of the cruiser and corrections officers assisted LPD in removing her.  “While atempting to get Walker out of the cruiser, walker bit a Corrections Officer on the face near the jaw line. Walker held the bite for approximately 4 seconds, leaving an
obvious bite impression of the officer’s face.”

Walker was booked for DUI with prior conviction, assault on an officer,  refusal of chemical test, willful reckless driving and resisting arrest .
