Lefler Middle School was evacuated early Thursday afternoon after a gas leak. LPS says a contractor hit a gas line outside the school and out of an abundance of caution Lincoln Fire and Rescue evacuated our school.
Classes were dismissed for the day and all of the Lefler students were moved to Holmes Elementary School at 5230 Sumner Street. After being checked in, lunch was provided to all students.
Students who had parents permission were allowed to walk home.
