A 39 year old man is facing charges after Lincoln Police say he attacked his brother during a family argument around 6:20 Wednesday night in the 5100 block of West Benton Street.
When officers arrived they a 36-year-old man told them he and his mother had been arguing because he’d taken her vehicle for a longer time than previously agreed. He says his brother, 39 year old Jessie Luginbill , got involved and the two brothers began arguing with each other.
The altercation escalated and the victim said Luginbill grabbed a knife approximately 10-12 inches long and attempted to stab him several times said he was going to kill him. The victim suffered lacerations to both hands before he was able to wrestle the knife away from Luginbill.
Police say Luginbill then grabbed a bat and hit his brother over the head several times causing swelling on the back of his head. Luginbill left the house prior to officers arriving. He was arrested following a traffic stop near 2nd and O Street at about 11:40 Wednesday night.
Based on the evidence and interviews officers booked Luginbill for 2nd Degree Assault, Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony and Terroristic Threats.
