The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office says a man was thrown from his pick-up truck after a head-on crash Thursday afternoon near 112th and Fletcher.

Sheriff Terry Wagner says the crash happened around 2:30 p.m.  “The GMC Terrain was eastbound on Fletcher and a pickup truck was westbound on Fletcher.”  He says the pickup then struck the Terrain, which caught on fire.

Wagner says the 29 year old pickup driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and has been stabilized.  He has been cited for driving left of center.  The driver of the Terrain was treated at the hospital and released.

Wagner says drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash.  Waverly Fire and Rescue and Southeast Fire and Rescue crews responded to the scene. The fire was put out before it could spread to the nearby farm fields.
