The LPS Crisis Team will be available at Lincoln High on Wednesday from 1 to 3 p.m. to meet with students and staff morning the death of student Nevaeh Martinez. She was killed in Topeka, Kansas on July 3rd. One person has been arrested and charged with 1st degree murder in connection to her death.

Navaeh would have been a senior this fall. In a letter from Principal Mark Larson: “Grief affects everyone in different ways and we encourage anyone who is struggling to be kind to themselves and others who may be having difficulty. It is possible that someone who might not have known Nevaeh could still be having difficulty with her death. Here is a link to a resource that can help you provide support to your child: Helping Teens with Trauma and Grief.”

The Crisis Team and school administrators are available to work with those wanting to find a positive and school appropriate way to honor Nevaeh.
