A 59-year-old Lincoln man is facing several charges after a road rage incident early Wednesday morning. LPD Captain Todd Kocian a 34 year old woman was driving westbound near 65th and Holdrege around 1:20 a.m. when her vehicle was struck from behind by a black SUV.
“As she approached 48th Street, she slowed to approximately 10 mph to allow the other vehicle to go around, however it began to push her vehicle.” Kocian says Daryl Stokebrand then pulled along side and sideswiped the woman’s vehicle. He then stopped in front of her.
“Stokebrand approached her vehicle and immediately realized she was not who he thought she was,” Kocian says. “He apologized and offered to pay her for the damage then left the scene.”
Stokebrand was eventually arrested during a traffic stop. He was booked into the Lancaster County Jail for terroristic threats, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony and attempted second-degree assault.
The woman’s car sustained $6,000 in damage.
