Lincoln Firefighters responded to a fire at a mobile home park near 4th and Cornhusker around 2:00 Wednesday afternoon.  Battalion Chief Jeremy Gegg says they saw a lot of black smoke in the air as they were responding to the call.

“When we arrived we found one trailer house that was heavily involved in fire with a second trailer house that was beginning to catch on fire,” Gegg says.  He says the strong winds helped spread the flames from one home to the other.  It took about 15 minutes to bring the fire under control.

Gegg says the home where the fire started was completely destroyed and they found a dog dead inside.  He says a firefighter was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries, but they are not considered life threatening.

Investigators are trying to determine how the fire started.
