Arrest Made In Malmo Murder

An arrest is made in the murder of a 27-year-old Malmo woman.    Kayla Matulka was found stabbed to death inside her home at 236 Bowen Avenue Wednesday morning.
Investigators with the Nebraska State Patrol arrested her fiance, 25-year-old Kolton Barnes.  He was booked into the Saunders County Jail for 1st-degree murder and felony animal cruelty.
The Saunders County Sheriff’s Office received a report around 9:30 Wednesday morning that a neighbor had found Matulka dead inside her home.  A dog was also found dead at the residence.
This is an ongoing investigation involving NSP and the Saunders County Sheriff’s Office.
