Lincoln Police say two men were killed after being struck by a car at the Lodge Apartments near 46th and Nebraska Parkway around 1:30 Monday afternoon.
Assistant Chief Jason Stille tells KLIN News a black car left the area after the incident and was eventually stopped at 48th and Briarpark. He says a 27 year old woman was arrested. “It appears what precipitated the two males being struck was possibly an accident involving that black sedan and a golf cart. Then the female appeared to drive over the two males that were in a grassy area off of a parking lot.”
Stille says it appears both men were employees of the apartment complex. The incident happened near the complex office building. Both are believed to be in their 40’s. Stille says after the golf cart had been struck some sort of argument ensued before both men were struck.
Late Monday afternoon Police Chief Teresa Ewins said the woman is being charged with two counts of second degree murder. She is a resident of the apartment complex. “This investigation is unfolding. Witnesses are being interviewed and it will take some time to understand the circumstances of this incident,” Ewins says.
She says they are also reviewing video evidence of the incident.
