The search is on for a shoplifter who assaulted a Kwik Shop employee with a liquor bottle early Tuesday morning. Sergeant Chris Vollmer says the 34 year old clerk told them that just after 1:00 a.m. a younger man came in, walked around for a bit, grabbed a bottle of booze and began walking toward the door.
“The employee confronted the male about shoplifting and grabbed hold of his arm to prevent his exit. The male responded by striking the employee on the head several times with the bottle before fleeing,” Vollmer says.
The employee was treated at a hospital for a head laceration. The suspect, believed to be in his late teens or early 20’s, is still on being sought. Vollmer says the stolen liquor bottle was valued at $22.49.
