Lincoln Police were called to the CEDARS Home for Children near 66th and Pioneers Tuesday evening following a report of an assault. LPD says staff members saw a 14-year old boy and a 16-year old girl assault another 14-year old boy.
Officers tried to talk to the 14-year old responsible in a stairwell. LPD says he tried to flee from officers up the stairs. One of the officers caught up to him on the second floor. LPD says the teen fought with the officer trying to take him into custody. A second officer then deployed a Taser and the teen was taken into custody.
He was taken to an area hospital and later released. He was then referred for assault and resisting arrest at the Youth Assessment Center. The 16-year -old girl was referred for assault and left in the care of Cedars Staff.
