U-S Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh join state and local leaders for a celebration to open the new American Job Center at 13th and N Street at 10:00 Thursday morning. Walsh will tour the center’s new renovations, made possible with $1.5 million in American Rescue Plan Act funds.
Before the tour, he will join Nebraska Commissioner of Labor John Albin, Lincoln Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird, Job Corps National Director Rachel Torres and other local leaders to briefly discuss the Biden-Harris administration’s commitment to investing in workforce training and career development to create pathways to good jobs in existing and emerging industries.
The American Job Center of Lancaster and Saunders Counties is a comprehensive center, offering a full array of employment and training-related supportive services for workers, youth and businesses. American Job Centers provide free help to jobseekers for a variety of career needs.
