Winter Weather Advisories and Winter Storm Warnings are posted to the West and North of Lincoln with extreme Northern counties expecting nearly a foot of snow over the next 24 to 36 hours.
Rain is more likely in southeast Nebraska and southwest Iowa until late Wednesday evening. Areas in between can expect to see a variety of winter weather precipitation including sleet and/or freezing rain.
Significantly cooler temperatures are forecast to end the week. Wind chills of 20 to 30 below 0 are expected in northeast Nebraska Thursday and Friday mornings.
