The Food Bank of Lincoln is launching a new program designed to increase access to food resources in underserved communities in its 16-county service area of Southeast Nebraska.
Hometown Fresh is a walk-thru mobile food pantry equipped with refrigeration, freezer and shelving units. The pantry on wheels allows neighbors in need of food to walk-thru and select from a variety of fresh produce, meat, dairy and shelf-stable items. It begins on Tuesday, Feb. 21.
Hometown Fresh is launching in eight rural communities in Southeast Nebraska, making its first stop in Plymouth, Neb. on Feb. 21, and will expand to the Lincoln area this spring.
