Lincoln Police Department were dispatched to the area of 14th St and Cornhusker on the report of a single-vehicle crash. Shortly after 8:15 PM on Friday, an eastbound car exited off of Cornhusker Hwy going toward 14th St.
“The vehicle continued eastbound and crossed both lanes at North 14th St before striking a power pole,” said Sgt. Chris Vollmer of LPD. Both occupants were taken to the hospital. Laura Devries of Ogallala, 47, was pronounced dead. The driver of the car, David Devries, also 47, has been hospitalized. The incident is under investigation.
