UPDATE: The official Nebraska Volleyball Twitter account clarified Wednesday afternoon news on senior Lauren Stivrins.
In a tweet, the program says “Lauren is coming back to Nebraska to rehab from a back surgery she had in the spring and to talk through her options to potentially play professional volleyball” and that “No decision on returning for another year of school has been made.”
Original story: What has taken longer than many in Husker Nation had hoped has finally come out: All-American Lauren Stivrins is coming back for an extra season with Nebraska volleyball.
Jeremy Anderson, Sports Director at KCSR Radio, asked Associate Head Coach Tyler Hildebrand about a Stivrins return. Hildebrand then broke the news to about 25 attendees in Chadron during the Big Red Blitz Wednesday.
“Lauren Stivrins is coming back,” Hildebrand said.

Stivrins is a three-time All-American. This past season, she was a unanimous All-Big Ten First Team selection.
Stivrins joins fellow senior-returner Lexi Sun in taking advantage of an extra season of eligibility from the NCAA due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
