Lincoln Police have released new details in a carjacking Tuesday morning near 27th Street and I-80. Officer Erin Spilker says the Volkswagen Passat that was stolen from a 19 year old woman as she pumped gas was found unoccupied in Omaha.
As the woman was filling her tank police say the suspect came up, pointed a gun at her and demanded her vehicle. The man struck her in the face with the gun after she screamed and tried to get away from him. The man then got into the vehicle and drove away.
Police say video from the business has been obtained and is currently being analyzed. The victim’s vehicle is valued at $3,000. This is an ongoing investigation and anyone with information is encouraged to call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
