A 46 year old Lincoln man is facing several charges after a struggle with officers Wednesday night.  LPD says Jerry Williams was known to have a suspended license and was spotted by officers pulling into a Casey’s store at 1001 South 13th Street Wednesday night.

Officer Erin Spilker says the officer contacted Williams after he stopped to park.   As the officer spoke with Williams, he observed an open alcohol container in the center console of the vehicle.  As Williams was asked to exit the vehicle a pat down search was completed.

The officer located 22.3 grams of methamphetamine with a street value about $2,000, a glass pipe and over $900 in cash.  As the officer took him into custody, Williams resisted officers.  After a lengthy struggle, Spilker says officers placed him into custody.  During a probable cause search of the vehicle, officers located a loaded 9mm handgun in between the driver’s seat and center console.

Officers learned that Williams was a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing firearms.  Williams was arrested for Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine, Possession of Money while Violating a Drug Law, Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person, Possession of a Firearm while Violating a Drug Law, Resisting Arrest, Driving During Suspension, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Open Container in Vehicle.
