LFR says it appears a fire in an apartment house Friday morning was deliberately set. The fire broke out around 7:00 in the living room of a two story house that was converted into five apartments at 1227 S. 14th Street.
LFR’s Nancy Crist says when crews arrived smoke was coming from the home. The fire was confined to the living room of a second floor apartment.
Investigators say the fire is suspicious and damage is estimated at $7-thousand. The residents won’t be able to stay in their apartments and the Red Cross is helping the residents find other places to live.
