116 miles in six days. That is the goal of Lincoln’s Chris Whitney. A longtime friend of LNK Today, Whitney says he is taking part in the MS Run The U.S.

Whitney says for him, this run is personal. He was a child when his mother was diagnosed with MS and he has seen the impact of the illness first hand. He later had a good friend diagnosed and that encouraged him even more to run for a good cause. He explains why he chose to the MS Run The U.S.

He says, “Helping people just to live their lives the best they can. It might be things like a home modification . If somebody needs a wheelchair ramp installed or a lift in their house. Or even if they need a wheelchair things like that. Maybe an air conditioning unit if they can’t afford it because they have money wrapped up in medication costs or treatment costs. That is where this organization makes a big difference. Just helping people that have MS and their families live better lives. I think that is where this organization sets itself apart and why it was so attractive to me.”

The run started in Santa Monica, California and will end in New York City in August. He plans on running about 30 miles a day for the first five days and wrap up the final day.

Whitney’s goal is to raise $15,000 and is almost there. To donate, go chrisrunsforms.com.
