A protection order violation sent Lincoln Police to a home in the 500 block of Fletcher around 8 p.m. Monday, June 7th. A 24 year old woman told officers that her husband, a 31 year old man, was at her home. Officers confirmed there was an active protection order that prohibited him from being at that residence. The man was also armed with a gun.

As officers approached the home, the man walked out from the patio area and had a handgun. Officers negotiated with him for over an hour outside the home trying to de-escalate the situation but he refused to drop the gun. The man then ran from officers and he was followed to I-180/I-80 where he was taken into custody with injury. A loaded Glock 9mm handgun was found in his possession.

He was taken to a hospital for a mental health evaluation and charges are pending.
