The Lincoln Police Department conducted their ‘Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over’ campaign December 1 through January 1.   During that time, officers conducted high visibility traffic enforcement and took a zero-tolerance approach to drivers under the influence of alcoholic liquor and drugs.

During the project, the Lincoln Police Department made 99 DWI/DUI arrests, an increase of 6.5% compared to 2021. LPD says 13 people under the age of 21 were arrested for DUI and there were eight felony DUI arrests.

Police say 10 people were arrested for second offense DUI, six for third offense and two people for fourth offense.  The highest blood alcohol test was .282 and the average test was .162   There were nine refusals and two blood draws.  There were eight felony DUI arrests made.

Ten arrests were also made for drug impairment offenses.   Funding for this project was provided by the Nebraska Department of Transportation-Highway Safety Office.
