A good deed by a 20 year old food delivery driver ended with her being assaulted and her car taken at gunpoint Thursday in west Lincoln. LPD Captain Todd Kocian says the woman and her 16 year old passenger were making a delivery when they spotted three teenagers walking in the cold near Blue Flame Road and Torchlight Lane.

“Due to the frigid temperatures, she offered them a ride. Once inside the vehicle one of the males displayed a handgun and struck her in the head several times,” Kocian says.  “She and her passenger were then ordered out of the vehicle, which then left the area.

Kocian says officers found the stolen vehicle later in the day after it was involved in a single vehicle crash near 25th & P Street.  “Following the crash,
five teens fled from the vehicle on foot. One of the teens was armed with a handgun, which he discarded as he fled.”

Four of the five teens that ran were apprehended following a short foot chase. The teens, ranging in age from 15-17, were arrested and booked into the Lancaster County Youth Services Center for a variety of offenses robbery and weapons violations.
